The Battle of Okeechobee Family-Friendly Event & Reenactment is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1, 2026. This annual event commemorates the largest battle of the Second Seminole War, originally fought on Christmas Day in 1837.
Event Details
Time: Gates are open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, with the main battle reenactment and narration beginning at 2:00 PM each day.
Location: Okeechobee Battlefield Historic State Park (3500 SE 38th Ave, Okeechobee, FL 34974).
Cost: Admission is $10 per vehicle.
Activities & Highlights
Includes live battle narration, cannon fire demonstrations, and a historic colors presentation.
Visitors can explore historic encampments of both the federal army and Seminole warriors, featuring living history demonstrators and exhibitors.
